I love cooking with the seasons. Not because I think you should only eat something when the calendar says you're allowed to, but because there's something rather lovely about making the most of what's good right now.

The ingredients change, the days change, and so does what I fancy cooking. From fresh, light dishes in spring and summer to big comforting pots, puddings and baking when the evenings draw in, there's always something finding its way into my kitchen.

Take a wander through the seasons and see what's cooking.

SPRING

Fresh, green and full of promise.

The first tender leaves, bright vegetables, rhubarb, elderflower and all the signs that the kitchen is waking up after winter.

Refreshing Summer Drink

Summer

Longer days, lighter cooking and plenty to share.

Berries, tomatoes, courgettes, salads, outdoor lunches, puddings and drinks that somehow taste better in the sunshine.

Autumn

The season I can't resist.

Fallen leaves, apples, blackberries, figs, plums, warming spices, big pots, puddings and plenty of excuses to turn the oven on.

WINTER

Comfort food has entered the building.

Slow-cooked dishes, hearty suppers, baking, warming drinks and the sort of food that makes you want to stay in the kitchen a little longer.
