I know nobody comes to a food website because they're desperate to read a privacy policy. But here we are.I take your privacy seriously, so this page explains what information I collect when you visit In My Kitchen With You, why I collect it and what I do with it.
I run this website myself, from my kitchen in Somerset. I am not interested in selling your personal information, following you around the internet or building some enormous database about your life. I am primarily interested in recipes, seasonal food and finding out whether anyone has actually made that blackberry tart.
What information do I collect?
If you sign up to my newsletter, contact me, or otherwise choose to interact with the website, I may collect information such as your name and email address. If you send me an email, I will obviously receive whatever information you choose to put in that email.
Please don't send me anything you wouldn't want sitting in my inbox alongside recipes and the occasional complete nonsense.
Website analytics

I use Wix Analytics to help me understand how people use the website. This gives me general information such as how many people visit, which pages are popular, how visitors find the site and which recipes are getting some love.
This helps me work out what is useful to you and where I should spend my time improving the website.

I do not use Google Analytics or Google advertising on this website.
Newsletters

If you sign up to my newsletter, your name and email address are stored by Wix so that I can send you emails you've asked to receive.I may occasionally send recipes, news, seasonal ideas or other things from my kitchen that I think you might enjoy.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email. No hard feelings. Although I may assume you have finally had enough of me talking about blackberries.

Wix also provides information about whether emails have been opened. This helps me understand whether my emails are actually being read or disappearing into the great email abyss.

Cookies
Like pretty much every modern website, this site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed to make the website work properly, while others help Wix understand how the website is being used.
Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, this will be handled in accordance with the applicable privacy rules.
Who has access to your information?

I use Wix to host and manage my website, including my website forms, contacts, newsletter and analytics. Your information may therefore be processed by Wix and the service providers they use to provide these services.I don't sell your personal information.
How long do I keep your information?
I keep personal information only for as long as I reasonably need it for the purpose it was collected, or where I have a legal reason to keep it for longer. If you unsubscribe from my newsletter, I won't continue sending you marketing emails.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have rights over the personal information I hold about you. These can include asking to see the information I hold, asking me to correct it, asking me to delete it, or objecting to how it is being used.If you want to know what information I have about you, or you'd like me to change or delete something, just get in touch.
