PULL UP A CHAIR
Something to Share ...
Come hungry.
The table's ready, there's plenty to share and there's always room for one more.

Something to Share
There's always room for one more at my table.
These are the recipes made for putting in the middle, passing around and helping yourself to. The sort of food that doesn't need a perfectly dressed plate or everyone eating at exactly the same time.
Just pull up a chair.
There might be a little more food than we need, someone will probably go back for seconds, and I'm fairly certain nobody will complain about that.

Bramley Apple Potato Salad - A Somerset Orchard Potato Salad with Dill, Warm Cheddar Jalapeño Hot Links & Creamy Dressing
Nature's Larder It's about this time of year in Somerset that Bramley apples have a habit of appearing on doorsteps .. less cherry knocking, more apple knocking. Left hopefully outside a gate with a little handwritten note inviting you to take a few, they're one of my favourite signs that the seasons are beginning to shift. This hearty potato salad is my wa

Tips & Suggestions
🪑 Make more than you think you'll need.
Sharing food has a funny habit of disappearing faster than expected. A little extra is rarely a problem, especially when there are leftovers.
🪑 Put it in the middle.
A big bowl or generous serving dish is often all you need. Let everyone help themselves rather than worrying about perfectly plated portions.
🪑 Think about temperature.
Not everything needs to arrive piping hot. Salads, tarts, dips, roasted vegetables and plenty of desserts are perfectly happy sitting on the table while everyone settles in.
🪑 Give people something to pass around.
Bread, dips, sauces, pickles, herbs and little bowls of extras make a meal feel generous and give everyone something to fiddle with while they're waiting for dinner.
🪑 Mix and match.
A sharing table doesn't need every dish to follow the same theme. A big salad alongside something warm, a bowl of potatoes and a good sauce can make a wonderfully relaxed meal.
🪑 Don't forget the hungry ones.
If you're feeding a crowd, include something substantial alongside the nibbly bits. Nobody has ever complained about there being too many potatoes!

Jo's Kitchen Note ...
I love food that doesn't need much explaining.
Put a big dish in the middle of the table, hand everyone a plate and let them help themselves.
There's something wonderfully relaxed about it ... nobody worrying about perfect portions or whether everything is still piping hot at exactly the same moment.
Some of the best meals I've cooked have been the ones where everyone just digs in.
