WHEN SWEET JUST WON'T CUT IT ...

    Something Savoury ...

Whether you're simply savoury, not sweet, or it's one of those days when you don't want pudding, you want something savoury.

SOMETHING SAVOURY

For when sweet simply won't do...

There are days when you don't want pudding, you don't want a salad and you certainly don't want to think too hard about what you're going to eat ...

You want something savoury.

Something cheesy, herby, crispy, buttery, spicy, comforting or perhaps just gloriously garlicky. From simple lunches and light suppers to dishes substantial enough to make a proper meal of, you'll find plenty here to satisfy a savoury craving.

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS ...

Look for pies, tarts, pasta, salads, soups, gratins and all those wonderfully savoury things that make you forget you're supposed to be eating something sensible.

And don't be afraid to adapt. Add a little more cheese. Throw in the herbs you've got. Use up the vegetables lurking in the fridge.

Savoury cooking is rarely about following the rules too closely.

Jo's Kitchen Note ...

I'm a great believer in tasting as you go.

More cheese? Probably.

Another pinch of salt? Quite possibly.

Herbs & spices?  These can really lift a dish.

A little something you found in the back of the fridge? Absolutely.

That's how half my recipes happen.
